The University of Greenwich Purchase AVRT After Being Awarded RCIF Grant

AVRT are delighted to be working with the University of Greenwich on a number of academic studies. The University have purchased the AVRT system after successfully obtaining an RCIF fund grant for simulation research training with Police and Community. The system has already been deployed and is based at the Sports Science, and Psychology facility as part of the new Simulation Centre at Avery Hill.

The project is led by professor Jill Jameson and will work in several main areas:
• Critical encounters simulation of police with youth group volunteers for educational technology research into police professional development;
• Sports science simulation research into biomechanics and physiology of police equipment carriage, body armour and firearms;
• Super-recogniser capability simulation in crowds for policing, security, and facial identity verification and behavioural threat training.
