10, September 2026 – The Government recently confirmed it will run a major exercise in 2027 to test the UK’s resilience for war, including whether it can recall, equip and mobilise Britain’s “strategic reserve”, a pool of around 95,000 retired regular and reserve personnel. Armed Forces Minister Louise Sandher-Jones told the House of Lords National Resilience Committee the exercise would challenge the Ministry of Defence on a scale not seen for years, following a warning from the Chief of the Defence Staff earlier this year that there was no effective system for engaging former personnel.

Cases like this are where simulation using the AVRT system really comes into its own.

The platform makes it easy to create and deliver detailed scenarios to up-skill and re-skill personnel when contact time is at a premium and training needs to scale. Reserves, Cadets and call-ups are all perfect use cases, where training windows are limited and consistency across intakes matters.

The system has been designed from the ground up to be intuitive and comfortable to use, so that any soldier can adapt to this kind of training delivery without a lengthy learning curve getting in the way of the training itself.
